Pay and Display Machines
In the vast majority of cases, our parking meters will print out a ticket which you can then display in your windscreen. Some parking meters are ticketless, however. In such cases, you will find instructions on the parking meter that tell you how to register your parking session.
Aimo Park pay stations
Some of our car parks have pay stations to complement our modern digital payment methods.
Digital tickets
In most of our car parks, Aimo Park has pay machines with digital tickets. In these cases, it is clearly indicated on the ticket machine. As your purchase is registered digitally, no parking ticket is printed. Instead, our parking attendants see on their PDA (handheld computer) that you have paid and how long you can be parked. When there is a maximum time specified in the car park, the payment machine will only take payment up to the maximum time.
Always make sure to follow the instructions on each pay machine.
Paper tickets
In some cases, the pay machine will print a paper ticket that you place in the front windscreen of your vehicle. When the pay machine is ticketless, you register your parking according to the instructions on the pay machine.
Always check that your parking ticket is still there before you leave the car, so that, for example, the door pull does not cause the parking ticket to blow down. Remember that you are responsible for your ticket. If your ticket is damaged or lost, you will not be reimbursed for any costs incurred.
Pre- and post-payment
In car parks with pay machines, you can pay in the following ways:
- Prepayment: You pay on arrival for the time you wish to park.
- Post-payment: You check in with a payment card on arrival and choose your estimated end time. Please choose a longer time so that you don't risk the car park ending automatically before you return. Then you check out and pay with the same payment card when you leave the car park.
- All Aimo Park pay machines accept payment cards, a few also accept coins.
- The pay machine will show you which tariff applies. If there are several tariff categories, for example alternative tariff for accommodation, use the buttons to change the tariff.
Other things to consider:
- Please note that you may need a valid permit to be eligible for the alternative rate.
- Please note that if you parked where different time intervals apply, you pay for each time interval started.
- Follow the instructions on the machine.
- If you have problems with a pay machine, just call us. The telephone number of the Service Centre is indicated on the pay machine and we are available around the clock.
Things to consider when paying by card
- Wait until the previous purchase is completed before inserting your payment card.
- Leave your payment card in the card reader throughout the purchase. Remove it when prompted by the display.
Reserved amount for payment in arrears
When checking in at a payment machine, an authorisation check is carried out. Aimo Park checks that the payment card has not been cancelled or stolen and that there is sufficient funds for the purchase.
The amount depends on the car park you are parking in and the tariff that applies to it. In a few car parks, if your car is parked for several days, an amount is recorded for each day or part thereof. The amounts vary depending on the tariff and the time of day you first registered the car park.
A reserved (provisional/protected) amount is held by the bank and does not benefit Aimo Park. The bank is responsible for releasing the amount when the account is debited. This usually takes three to five banking days. When you pay for the car park, the payment machine contacts the bank and informs it of the amount to be debited from the account. The previously reserved (provisional/protected) amount is released and the amount indicated on the check-out receipt is debited from your account.
